"The final piece was a composition of Ned's called “Chamundi Hill” where Keiko imitated the sound of the tambura by intriguingly ‘bowing' the strings of the piano, which earned them a shout for encores and a standing ovation." - Marianne De Nazareth, The Hindu

Chamundi Hill

(2012)

Flute and harp
Flute and piano

Duration: 15'

Chamundi Hill is inspired by Indian Classical music, particularly the Alap form where the raga is explored in a context without pulse. An expressive tour de force for the flutist while the harpist explores the rarely used technique of bowing the harp strings with nylon string.
